The Emanuele Luigi Galizia Awards, also referred to as Premju Galizia, are Malta’s principal awards recognising excellence within the Perit profession across architecture, engineering, planning and design. Named after the 19th-century architect and civil engineer Emanuele Luigi Galizia, the awards provide a national framework for evaluating professional work against standards of technical rigour, spatial intelligence and civic responsibility. The 2025 edition marked a significant evolution of the programme, extending beyond a single awards ceremony into a coordinated series of public and professional events, including exhibitions, presentations and structured discourse, positioning the awards as an active instrument within the contemporary built environment.

For the 2025 edition, I+A were appointed as Artistic Directors, leading the programme in its entirety, including the artistic direction, curatorial structure and overall organisation of the awards. This role encompassed the development of the thematic framework, the selection and coordination of the jury, the design of the visual identity, and the planning and delivery of all public events and associated outputs, from inception through to completion. Through this contribution, I+A shaped Premju Galizia as a cohesive and fully realised awards programme, aligning professional evaluation, public engagement and cultural discourse within a single, clearly articulated framework.
